Salesmade Supports Aylesbury Ducks
Salesmade is delighted to announce our official partnership with Aylesbury United Football Club, also known as The Ducks. We see this as an opportunity to build stronger links between our town’s businesses, the club and the community, for everyone’s benefit.
All About Aylesbury United
Joining the Club
Aylesbury United was initially formed in 1897, so it has long been part of our town. It includes a Men’s and Women’s first team, yet there are plenty of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.
The youngest members can enrol in Mini Ducks from 3 years old. Children learn footwork skills and the importance of teamwork before progressing up through the Junior teams. There are also Pan-disability and walking football teams. So, if you’ve got a love of the game and want to get active, find out more, including how to sign up.
Watching the Matches
If you prefer spectating to playing, Aylesbury United compete in the Southern League Division One Central. The family-friendly matches provide great live entertainment. The downside is that all Home matches are played in Chesham. Yes, since 2006, there has been no base for the club in our town.
Some of you may remember the Buckingham Road Stadium. A few of you may have even paid £10 for a ticket in 1988 when Aylesbury United was the first non-league team to play against the England squad! Yes, players including Peter Beardsley, Gary Linker and John Barnes played in our town before heading to the Euros. It was a memorable day for the Aylesbury team and fans, despite England winning 7-0.
The lease on the stadium ran out in 2006 and the team were moved on to make way for housing. However, despite several applications, the site has never gained planning permission and is now derelict. So, for 18 years fans have travelled to Chesham for Home matches. However, Aylesbury United is determined to ‘Bring the Ducks Back’ and we, at Salesmade, fully support this mission.
Building Links in Aylesbury’s Business Community
Salesmade decided to partner with Aylesbury United, as both organisations share strong and long-standing community ties. We believe our involvement can bring clear advantages to local people and organisations.
“We at Salesmade are proud to become part of the Aylesbury United family. Both of us have a rich history in the town and it makes sense to join forces, support local businesses, charities, and the development of the Aylesbury United brand. We would love to see The Ducks playing back in Aylesbury and are fully behind the team who are working tirelessly to make it happen. Bring the Ducks home!”
— Jason Attridge, Salesmade
If your business is also keen to support this local club, there is a range of sponsorship opportunities. Another option is to purchase tickets for the 50:50 draw and chance your luck at a win.
At a time when some communities are divided, it seems important to forge connections and build on a great local legacy. We look forward to sharing details of new developments as they unfold!
