In March 2017, Ian, Jason & Ben became Salesmade’s new directors after a successful management buy out from Andy Seal.

Ian Defriez
Ian initially joined Salesmade in 1995, working weekends and school holidays. In 1999, went to Plymouth University to study Mechanical engineering design and manufacturing, yet returned to Salesmade during holidays to practically apply what he was learning in the classroom.
After graduating, Ian was recruited by PCC Sterling, latterly Sterling Thermal Technology, then onto Constant Air Systems, gaining experience in Project Manager roles. In 2011, Ian returned to his roots, joining Salesmade as General Manager. Having garnered extensive engineering and management experience, it was the right time to return to Salesmade and use that experience to help take the company forward.
Ben Bowden
Ben joined the office team at Salesmade back in 2007, quickly establishing himself as an efficient Procurement Manager.
Ben is fully committed to establishing strong relationships with suppliers and customers, which has been paramount in establishing long-term business associations. His knowledge and control over purchasing decisions give Salesmade a competitive edge.
When he’s not working, Ben spends a lot of his time renovating his country cottage and walking the dogs.
Jason Attridge
Jason joined Salesmade in 2006 and spent his first year working across all departments, applying himself to learn all he could about engineering and production. Jason then took on the role of Project Manager, where he was the key contact for Salesmade’s biggest customer, RADII Partitioning.
Forming strong relationships with the team at RADII, and managing a comprehensive planning, manufacture and delivery service, Jason helped Salesmade and RADII to grow; RADII has established itself as the top office partitioning company in London.
Jason proved to be an astute manager and in 2015 was promoted to oversee all production and assist with the general management of the company.
Father of four, Jason is a busy man. When he gets some free time, he is a keen cyclist often participating in various challenges. Having spent many years drumming in local bands he is undeniably passionate about music and he’s a keen follower of Northampton Saints Rugby team and Queens Park Rangers football team.

2020 was a challenging year for all businesses and Salesmade Ltd was no exception. Having fought through, adapted and made some difficult decisions, the management team have taken stock. We are now focused on developments to ensure we optimise future opportunities.
2021 Salesmade employed Wendy Cross. With her experience in Aluminium extrusions and fabrications, she will be instrumental in starting up a brand new Sales & Marketing department.
Having worked their way up, the ‘next generation’ of Managers, Ian Defriez, Jason Attridge and Ben Bowden formed a management buyout in March 2017. Salesmade continues to provide bespoke aluminium extrusions, primarily for office interior fittings.
Within the first year an opportunity arose for the new management team to help in the formation of sister company; Salesmade Fabricatons Ltd, alongside Carl Brackley and Simon Vipan. With over 40 years experience between them they offer high-quality sheet metal work and fabrications from our base in Aylesbury.
The formation of Salesmade Fabrications ensured that the business has come full circle, returning to its roots in sheet metal fabrications. This continues to give Salesmade the ability to offer the full customised one-stop-shop package to customers.
Andy continued to grow the business, largely through repeat business and the referrals of satisfied customers. They invested in new premises and provided comprehensive in-house training for the growing workforce.
Having gained knowledge and experience working alongside the founders, new Managing Director, Andy Seal took over leadership as the company continued to grow. He made the decision to move away from sheet metal and specialise in the design, fabrication and finish of aluminium extrusions, never losing sight of the core company values.
Salesmade was established on 21st November 1980 by Rodney Lugton and Alan Matthewman, with Brian Dudley appointed as production manager and Andy Seal joining to run the sheet metal department shortly afterwards.
With considerable shop fitting experience, they focused on the manufacture of metal parts for office furniture. From the early days, the founders were committed to pulling out all the stops to deliver customer service excellence.
